Job Description

COMPANY:                            Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc.

LOCATION:                            168 Third Ave., Waltham, MA 02451 (can work remotely)

TITLE:                                    Sr. Developer

HOURS:                                  Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

DUTIES:                                 Develop, implement, support and maintain the sales compensation system (SQL Server, JavaScript).

                                                Configure and execute defined database process written in MS SQL.

                                                Define and Develop data model, T-SQL Job routines, information flow, input and output configuration.

                                                Present solutions that are consistent with the architecture and application design.

                                                Reverse Engineering existing code (Procedures/functions/Triggers/DDL) written in MS SQL and create a Technical/functional document.

                                                Complete the needs and requirements analysis and recommend cost effective and justifiable solutions; interact with customers regarding business requirements.

                                                Prepare estimates and develop project pan, communicate project status regularly to the Project Management team, coordinate and communicate with project manager other project resources.

                                                Diagnose and resolve technical issues as they are reported and provide technical consultation to other IT groups.

                                                Support system availability (tier 1 support) on a rotating basis.

                                                Contribute to the development of new functionality and design capabilities.

                                                Assist with the installation and configuration of software applications in accordance with specifications.

TRAVEL:                                Up to 10% domestic and international travel required. Telecommuting Employee: Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute.

REQUIREMENTS:                  Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Data Science, Computer Application, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 5 years of experience as a Principal Consultant, Solution Architect, or related occupation. Employer will also accept a Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Data Science, Computer Application, Computer Science, or related field of study plus 3 years of experience as a Principal Consultant, Solution Architect, or related occupation as an equivalent alternative.

                                                Required knowledge or experience with:

                                                MS SQL Server programming and SQL procedures and functions;

                                                Data mapping and ETL/SSIS;

                                                JavaScript Frameworks;

                                                RestAPI;

                                                Data architecture, Data modeling, Reporting, and Analytics;

                                                Complete application development lifecycle; and

                                                Creating test plans, executing test cases, and supporting customer in UAT.
