Job Title: Inventory Coordinator I

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific team to assist customers in finding cures, protecting the environment, and ensuring food safety with real-world impact.

Unity Lab Services offers a single source for coordinated lab service, support, and supply management. Our customized service offerings and premier service experts have the flexibility and experience to uniquely address our customer’s laboratory's business needs. Position located in Boston, MA

How do we make an impact?

The position is focused primarily on scientific support services within Unity Lab Services core offerings of order entry, order management, operating customer procurement systems, stockroom services, material handling, shipping/receiving, and chemical tracking.

What will you do?

  • Use Thermo Fisher Scientific's or customer's inventory/order management electronic systems to perform the following activities: on-site program replenishments and disbursements, receiving, put-away, stock rotation, cycle counts, order entry and expediting, customer service call resolution, product returns, and backorder processing.
  • Delivery of packages within a laboratory environment
  • Sustaining and maintaining of stockroom inventory
  • Pickup of hazardous waste
  • Delivery of packages within a laboratory environment
  • Follow work processes as outlined by our written procedures.
  • Listens to customer concerns, effectively addresses issues with a goal of resolution within established timeframe, and proactively communicates with supervisor, any customer concerns and/or potential problems.
  • Engages in process improvement activities.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

How will you get here?

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Experience

1-2 years in proven experience, preferably within a laboratory setting or services.

Validated customer service skills with demonstrated verbal, and written skills.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Shows proficiency in English communication, prioritizing customer service and embodying Thermo Fisher Scientific's values.
  • Must possess operating skills to use handheld scanners and learn to enter data in various systems as needed, as well as analytical skills to reconcile reports.
  • Demonstrates computer proficiency and possess intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite of software. Uses organizational skills to multi-task and meet due dates as needed.
  • Works primarily at customer sites, which may require working independently. Work areas may include spaces where chemical-based allergens may be in use (such as penicillin, tetracycline, etc.)
  • Depending on area of building, personal protective equipment may be worn to include lab coats, coveralls, hood, facemask, hairnets, safety gloves, and safety glasses, steel toe shoes, bump hats and/or safety glasses.
  • Must lift, push, and pull 30-40 pounds regularly; occasional lifting of 50 pounds using equipment like pushcarts, jacks, forklifts.
