       Q&A with Jordyn

What attracted you to join the Sales Development Program (SDP) with Thermo Fisher Scientific?
As a bench scientist at the time, I loved the technical side of my day-to-day, but I knew that moving to a customer-facing, commercial role would be vastly different. The Sales Development Program allowed me to have the supportive environment necessary to learn and equip myself with the tools to be an effective partner to our customers.

What has been a major contributor to your growth throughout the program and moving into your role?
The network for sure! Throughout the Sales Development Program, I was connected to a range of subject matter experts and leaders. With this exposure and training, I was provided a wealth of knowledge and grew immense confidence to pursue a role and relocate from North Carolina to Boston. People are willing to help you if you ask, and it fully demonstrates the collaborative culture of the Biosciences Division at large.

What advice would you give someone who is interested in the program?
Connect with alumni and ask about their experience.  I believe you can’t go wrong with applying for this program because you will have garnered the necessary knowledge to succeed no matter what sales role you may pursue in the future.
