“Data science is an incredibly diverse field thanks to its many applications, so a rotational program is a great opportunity for new grads to try different roles and solidify their career interests. During my rotations, I was given projects that were technically challenging and impactful to the business, such as building predictive models to solve problems in the marketing and consumer insights space. The program also allowed me to build an extensive network of mentors across the company, who have given me invaluable advice regarding career development. Data science at Thermo Fisher Scientific is interdisciplinary, requiring both business and technical skill sets for your day-to-day work. I appreciated being able to own my projects and collaborate with stakeholders as a project lead. Lastly, I am extremely grateful for the organizers of the DSLDP and my assigned teams, all of whom have advocated for my success throughout the program and beyond.”
