“When applying for internships, I was focused on companies that had rotational programs that I could eventually apply for after completing my undergraduate degree. During my research, I came across Thermo Fisher Scientific, which offered an internship program that served as a feeder to the Finance Leadership Development Program. I saw this as a great opportunity to not only gain valuable finance experience, but to work for a company that also aligned with my values and could be a future home for me after graduation. During my internship, I worked on high impact projects and gained the knowledge needed to become a high-performing candidate for the rotational program. As a result, there was never any question about returning to Thermo Fisher as a member of the FLDP. Each of my four rotations provided unique opportunities to work on meaningful projects, learn about different areas of finance and of the company, and work with incredible people along the way across several different sites on the east coast. Now, as an FLDP graduate, I have been able to apply all the skills I learned in each of my rotations to my off-program role and am continuing to build on the early career jump the program offered me.”
Kevin, previous intern and FLDP alumni, University of Massachusetts
“As a college senior, I still wasn’t sure about what career path I wanted to commit to. I was intrigued by the Finance Leadership Development Program because it was a chance to explore multiple types of finance and accounting to see what I was interested in the most. Thermo Fisher Scientific gave me the opportunity to learn and make a positive impact on the world over the course of four rotations. The diverse functional experience, the broader business understanding, and the network of inspiring friends and colleagues I had developed over the course of this program are crucial resources that will continue to support my success and development over the course of my career.”
Patrick, previous intern and FLDP alumni, UC Santa Barbara
“I could not have asked for a more phenomenal start to my career - from my Finance internship, to two years in the Financial Leadership Development Program, to my first year on the Corporate FP&A team. I have gained a wide range of professional skills, meaningful exposure to leadership, supportive network, and a solid foundation for my business acumen to grow upon for the rest of my career. Joining the Thermo Fisher Scientific team through the internship and FLDP program was one of the best decisions that I have made.”
Gella, previous intern and FLDP alumna, UC Santa Barbara
