“When I began to think about my post business school role, I knew for certain that I wanted to end up in a rotational program. However, I was very particular about what industry and function I ended up working in. With my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry, Medical Device Industry experience and overall passion for health care, Thermo Fisher Scientific’s mission aligned perfectly with what I value in a company and the Graduate Leadership Development Program GM track was a match made in heaven. The opportunity to go through three eight-month rotations while juggling two projects and being geographically flexible has been the best combination for me to learn multiple business segments, strengthen my ability to deal with ambiguity and see growth in influencing without authority. Also, I have had the privilege to be a part of a fantastic cohort of GLDPs and work cross-functionally across the company. As I prepare to roll off the program, I’m thankful for the many mentors and colleagues that have invested their time and energy in me to succeed in future endeavors here at Thermo Fisher.”
Ify, GLDP GM alumni, University of Minnesota
“As a graduate student, I was looking for a full-time position that offered me meaningful work with meaningful people, and I found it in Thermo Fisher Scientific. I was able to find a company that gave me long term career growth opportunity while challenging me with new and exciting projects every step of the way. Therefore, I joined Thermo Fisher. During my two years as a GLDP, I learned how to be a better leader, strategically think about a business, and build cross-functional relationships. These skills and more are the reasons I feel confident to continue building my future career as a General Manager. I am also grateful for the relationships I have built in my cohort. I am surrounded by highly talented individuals who all are exceptional in what they do. I know that the foundation the GLDP has given us in these two years has already and will only continue to set us up well for years to come.”
Mabel, GLDP GM alumna, University of North Carolina
“When I first began the recruiting process during my MBA, I was looking for a general management program where I could leverage my supply chain experience, apply the skills I would acquire through my MBA, and make a difference in healthcare and life sciences.  Thermo Fisher Scientific offered all these opportunities with the General Management Program. Each rotation within the program brings opportunities to grow my functional and company knowledge, collaborate with talented, highly motivated colleagues, and strengthen my leadership skills. The program has accelerated my exposure to different parts of the company with projects that are both impactful and highly visible to leadership. The guidance and mentorship from both current and past GLDP cohorts have been invaluable to my career development and in navigating the rotational program.”
Elpidia, current GLDP GM, The University of Texas at Austin
