Discover Impactful Work:
Seeking a Finance leader who will lead a finance and accounting team of 2 members and be the primary business partner for the EMEA SSOC Operations Leaders. This role will ensure strong financial controls, compliance, and timely and accurate financial reporting. In addition, the position holder will have an opportunity to build strong interpersonal alliances. You will provide valuable decision support, identify and implement operational improvement opportunities and develop a strong finance team.
A day in the Life:
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy, approval authority matrix and standard operating procedure; recommend changes to strengthen control environment
- Apply knowledge and provide mentorship on sophisticated financial accounting transactions
- Verify accuracy and completeness of financial documents and supplementary reporting with accounting procedures and controls
- Take a leading role during external and internal audits
Keys to Success:
Education
Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience. MBA preferred, or equivalent experience. CPA a plus.
Experience
- Required: Minimum of 5 years of business and Finance experience
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Excellent understanding of financial accounting standards and internal controls
- Proficient user of Excel; experience with QAD and Hyperion is desired
- Proficient verbal and written communication skills
- Owns Their Results; takes personal accountability for decisions and actions, always exercises good judgement and commits to Thermo Fisher Scientific ethics and values
