Formulation Technician II (High Volume)

Pay: $20/hr.

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific as a Formulation Tech 2 on our 1st shift. This is a remarkable opportunity to contribute to world-class manufacturing operations by performing detailed techniques and procedures in formulating liquid chemical solutions for reagents, controls, and calibrators. You will work with large volume equipment (1500L – 36000L) to ensure flawless production.

  • Build and inspect products strictly in accordance with company specifications, drawings, and procedures.
  • Move and stage large quantities of raw materials using automated equipment such as powered lifts and drum haulers.
  • Prepare and inspect equipment for use in chemical and bio-formulations, including setting up pumps, filters, tubing connections, and mixers.
  • Accurately calculate, weigh, and mix chemicals with diluents under controlled conditions to meet production schedules.
  • Maintain and clean all equipment, ensuring routine maintenance and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Maintain complete and accurate production records in compliance with GMP and FDA requirements.
  • Perform basic laboratory analytical testing and successfully implement line openings and closings.
  • Input data into a computerized material control system and consistently monitor work areas for safe conditions.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience; a B.S. or equivalent experience in Science or Medical Technology is preferred.
  • Minimum of one year production experience or equivalent education.
  • Knowledge of the metric system (weights & volumes).
  • Proven ability to coordinate, prioritize, and communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with GMP, ISO requirements, and SAP transactions is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal manufacturing environment.
  • Frequent communication and movement to different areas requiring PPE.
  • Successful completion of a Respirator Fit Test within 6 months of hire.
  • Ability to lift materials up to 110 pounds using traditional and non-traditional techniques.
