Location/ Division Specific Information:

This role, within the Analytical Services Division (ASD), offers an outstanding opportunity to lead a top-notch facilities team to support facilities globally for the central labs business unit with direct support for sites in the Highland Heights, KY, Covington, KY, and West Chester, OH. The team is committed to supporting our ambitious mission.

As the Facilities Director, you will successfully execute innovative strategies to ensure seemless operations, while bring a Safety and Quality first mentality to drive waste reduction and improve our business growth.

A day in the Life:

  • Lead the facilities team, ensuring high performance and engagement
  • Manage the strategy formation and execution for the global footprint of the Central Labs Business unit
  • Monitor execution of budgets, construction, and repair projects
  • Collaborate with departments such as IT, Finance, and Lab Support to meet operational needs
  • Ensures operating groups are provided with required space.
  • Generates monthly forecasts of "Capital Needs" expenditures for assigned facilities.
  • Directs the coordination, scheduling and completion of assigned capital projects.
  • Plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs.
  • Conducts inspections of facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with safety, sanitation and operating standards. Initiates corrective action when necessary.
  • Drives compliance with applicable building codes and regulations.

Education

  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant academic/vocational field

Experience

  • 10+ years of facilities management experience
  • 5+ years in a leadership role
  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects and teams

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Expertise in building construction/management
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to cultivate a collaborative and productive work environment with project and lab/operations teams
  • Proven ability in process improvement and compliance
  • Strong working knowledge of cost accounting, project cost management and budgeting
  • Strong computer skills, including use of Microsoft Office Suite, Database Management, Building Automation Systems (BAS), and/or Security and Fire Systems may be required
  • Excellent project management skills
  • In depth understanding of construction process and code requirements, UCC and Bid/Contract Procedures, and leases and lease terms
  • Effective negotiating and leadership skills, including the ability to interact effectively with individuals at all levels as well as outside vendor
