Position Summary:

The Inside Sales Manager Manages a team of sales reps who are dedicated to sales of Clinical Diagnostic Division products via telephone, email, and other digital methods within a defined territory. Accountable for serving customers engaged in the clinical and reference laboratory, as well as the criminal justice and forensics markets. Maintains effective customer relations, develops opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assures market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts.

Your responsibilities:

  • Proficient in leading inside sales people to achieve their revenue objectives
  • Maintains and builds quality strategic relationships within customers and internal leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of geographic account dynamics and strategies to advocate on behalf of the customer and collaborate effectively with key partners.
  • Able to lead critical initiatives that are aligned with team needs and strategy.
  • Be a role model leader supporting SFDC and other tools and technology
  • Able to identify and develop opportunities to use technology to grow own and wider team’s impact, including use of automation, AI, and data science
  • PPI – operational responsibility for process improvement projects directly impacting the Sales Team (eg participation in Kaizens and leading sophisticated projects)
  • Use available resources to meet customer needs and work optimally with a cross-functional team of suppliers and internal resources.
  • Own the strategic direction for the territory; develop sales strategies to meet plans and expand business; maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives.
  • Conduct research on competitor and industry activities, and stay updated on new products, services, and relevant information that might interest customers. Integrate these insights into the business plan; present and launch new products and services.
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files vital for accurate management of territory.
  • Connect with the manager any customer issues or potential problems, perform other tasks assigned by the manager.
  • Represent Thermo Fisher Scientific by clearly and consistently demonstrating Thermo Fisher Scientific mission, vision, values, and objectives to customers and partners.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and the Web along with the use of sales force software.
  • Must possess the interpersonal skills to multi-task and meet timelines as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead high functioning teams
  • Good interpersonal/teamwork, time management, communication, presentation, strategic selling, and negotiating skills.
  • This Role operates within a Matrix environment requiring the post holder to work adeptly with multiple collaborators, to handle both challenging requirements and concurrent project activity.
  • Carry out your responsibilities effectively, following the Dignity at Work Policy, Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, and our values of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.
  • Travel 10-20% of the time, to establish relationships with valued customers in larger accounts. This will be agreed on a case-by-case basis, depending on the customers and geography.
