Location/Division Specific Information
This role is based at our site in Fairlawn, NJ, supporting our Laboratory Chemicals Division, which manufactures reagents and solvents used for a breadth of applications from life sciences research to drug discovery and manufacturing.
Discover Impactful Work:
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Quality Manager to own the Quality function for the Laboratory Analytical Reagent business unit and manufacturing network. This person will be responsible for Quality Assurance and Quality Control. The senior leader will direct a team of professionals who establish, maintain, and strengthen business to ensure compliance of product and systems to customer and regulatory requirements.
A Day in the Life:
Develop and coach the Quality team to provide the best possible service through effective communication, scientific leadership, and problem solving.
Lead a culture of quality ownership, teamwork, and compliance.
Build and maintain collaborative relationship with key partners in Operations, Business, Commercial, and other functions.
Be comfortable navigating a sophisticated functional and technical matrix.
Improve operational performance by identifying, monitoring, and analyzing process metrics.
Collaborate across functions and sites to troubleshoot problems, interpret data and resolve next steps based on risk-based approach.
Provide expert mentorship on risk management, vendor qualification, and statistical process control.
Design, plan and lead Practical Process Improvements (PPI) initiatives focusing on scientific practices, knowledge, standard work, or quality initiatives.
Keys to Success:
Education
Bachelor of Science degree required. Preferably in Engineering, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or Biomedical Engineering.
Experience
Requires 5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance, or Quality Control position within the Chemical, Medical Device or Pharmaceutical, or highly regulated Industries supporting Regulated Products.
5 years management experience required.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Ability to develope and lead complex teams.
Ability to lead conversations with customers and auditors.
Ability to think strategically with the capability to resolve technical problems using innovative ways.
Work with diverse teams, guide teams through decision making, facilitate agreement, build collaborative relationships, and focus on customer needs.
Practical application experience in continuous improvement methodologies to improve processes, strengthen quality and drive efficiency.
