Accountant II

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific Korea Ltd. as an Accountant II in South Korea.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Handle accounting transactions, including general ledger entries, fixed assets, and lease accounting in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
  • Ensure accurate recording and processing of transactions in compliance with company policies, procedures, and US GAAP.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet reconciliations and fluctuation analysis to maintain accurate and detailed financial records.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on accounting matters and provide ad-hoc support as requested by the team leader.
  • Support internal, external, and tax audits by providing required documentation and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6-8 years of proven experience in general ledger or similar accounting roles.
  • Solid knowledge of K-GAAP and US GAAP, with a strong understanding of general accounting principles and practices.
  • Diligent with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal English skills.
  • Strong teammate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle E1 preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • AICPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Experience in process improvement or system enhancement projects is an advantage.
