Job Description

This position is based on our site in Uppsala, where Thermo Fisher develops, manufactures, and markets complete blood test systems to support the clinical diagnosis and monitoring of allergy, asthma, and autoimmune diseases. With 1,900 employees worldwide working with these products, and 1,000 in Sweden, we are the global leader in in-vitro allergy testing and the European leader in autoimmunity diagnostics. 

About the role

Join our hardworking team in Uppsala as a Manager, Manufacturing Large Scale. This is a dynamic role where you will coordinate a team of 18 dedicated professionals in an environment with a high level of process automation. You will play a crucial role in leading all aspects of the production of matrix bulks, extracts, and manufacturing preparation within our section.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of encouraging a collaborative and inclusive environment.

  • Coordinate the production of matrix bulks and extracts.

  • Ensure strict adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards.

  • Successfully implement biochemistry processes with a high degree of automation.

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve production efficiency and quality.

  • Monitor and compete against world-class manufacturing benchmarks.

  • Maintain detailed records and reports of manufacturing activities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing management role, preferably within a biochemistry context.

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven history of encouraging team collaboration.

  • Outstanding comprehension of automated manufacturing processes.

  • Deep knowledge of EHS standards and practices.

  • Ability to determine operational needs and implement improvements successfully.

  • Ambitious approach with a drive to achieve and maintain world-class production standards.

  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Swedish
