My work is a story of development.

Planning and laboratory testing in clinical trials.

Ruofei | Scientist, Immunochemistry

I started my journey with Thermo Fisher Scientific as part of our PPD® clinical research services team back in October 2020 during the pandemic.

Based out of our integrated lab in Suzhou, I help in the development of new drugs. In my role, I am involved in the development of clinical studies methodology, and the planning and testing of specimens from volunteers and patients in various clinical phases. The data is then used to determine the new drug safety and efficiency for the next stage of the process.

I was attracted to Thermo Fisher Scientific as my values are closely aligned with the company’s 4i values (Innovation, Intensity, Integrity, Involvement), especially around innovation. As a scientist, I’m passionate about how my work in science can help accelerate innovations to improve the lives of patients. One of the best parts of my job is getting the test data after working all day or several days in the lab. It gives me a tremendous sense of achievement when I hear and see how the vaccines and drugs I've helped to support have helped someone.

There’s a strong sense of belonging among colleagues with a culture of inclusiveness where we are valued and heard. When you’re ready to develop your career, you’ll discover that at Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell. And we all contribute to a singular Mission—to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
