My work is a story of legacy.

Business support that helps patients.

When I was 6 years old, my mother was diagnosed with cancer. This was a tremendous blow to our family, but my mother was a fighter. Sometimes, I would stay home from school to help make sure my mom got the care she needed. Our house resembled a medical wing and I would carry in boxes of supplies to my mother’s room. Unfortunately, my mother eventually lost the fight but several years later, everything would come full circle with Thermo Fisher Scientific.

I was researching professional development programs during my senior year at Johns Hopkins University. One of my main criteria was working for a company that stands by its mission and does everything with purpose. When I saw the FLDP at Thermo Fisher, something felt familiar and I suddenly realized that the many boxes I carried into my mother’s room when she was sick were Thermo Fisher products. Without hesitation, I applied for a chance to blend my finance studies and my passion to continue my mother’s legacy and make this world healthier.

The program has given me a unique opportunity to gain exposure into many business areas at Thermo Fisher. I recently worked with business partners in Pharma Services, an area focused on ensuring life-saving drugs, treatments and clinical trials are developed and delivered, safely and efficiently, to patients in need - just like my mother. I toured a clinical trials site in my hometown area and witnessed how drugs are manufactured, stored, packaged and delivered, from beginning to end. Although I’m not directly involved in a scientific role, as part of the Finance team, we are helping the business run smoothly, and in turn, helping patients.

When you’re ready for a career with purpose, you’ll discover that at Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell. And we all contribute to a singular Mission—to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
