My work is a
story of passion.

Applying nursing to clinical research.

Cecilia | Senior Director Clinical Management and Area Lead

Going from a major in Nursing to a career in Clinical Research was a natural progression for me because I enjoy having a direct impact in helping people improve their health. Having that direct impact in helping people is also what led me to pursue my major in Nursing and to transition into a career in Clinical Research with Thermo Fisher Scientific. The launch of a new drug or vaccine which positively impacts someone’s life is what drives me in this career.

My work as a Senior Director of Clinical Management supports the development of new drugs and vaccines which can help patients get a better quality of life or prevent illnesses. I manage the implementation of clinical studies for drugs and vaccines registration, ensuring that the study is done in accordance with the highest standard of quality and ethics. My team also oversees the identification and selection of clinical sites and investigators to conduct the studies to make sure the studies are conducted according to local and international regulations. Patient care is the utmost priority throughout the study, as well as taking care of the volunteers involved in the research, while maintaining data integrity and validity to support the registration of the new drug or vaccine.

Thermo Fisher Scientific takes care of colleagues so that we can deliver our best work. In addition to good healthcare and wellness benefits, working remotely gives me flexibility in managing my time between work and family commitments.

When you’re ready for a career with a global team helping people live better lives, you’ll discover that at Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our extraordinary minds has a unique story to tell. And we all contribute to a singular Mission—to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.
