Discover Impactful Work:
As a Scientist II, Cell Lab Trainer, you will provide training on technical procedures and documentation for analysts joining our Cell Lab. You will lead comprehensive training sessions and provide ongoing technical guidance on pipetting techniques, GMP documentation practices, and cell maintenance protocols. You will act as support for new hires in the cell lab by demonstrating techniques, observe new hires as they practice, answer their questions, and provide real-time feedback to ensure they gain proficiency. This role is pivotal in fostering a supportive learning environment and ensuring all new analysts are well-equipped to contribute effectively to the lab's operations.
A Day in the Life:
Determines, creates and presents hands-on technical modules. Provides orientation material to new employees. Reviews training documentation for new employees on basic skills.
Conduct needs assessments and develops/oversees the set-up and administration of these training programs. Designs, develops and implements training modules.
Trains staff on their job functions: set-up, use, troubleshooting, lab systems, procedures, lab techniques.
Develops proficiency in new technology, software, processes to enable development and support of training and business initiatives.
Performs work assignments accurately, and in a timely and safe manner.
Keys to Success:
Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
Experience
Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years).
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of various molecular techniques and GMP regulations preferred
Previous mentorship or training experience preferred
Good presentation skills
Organizational skills and the ability to multi-task
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Proven problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
Good written and oral communication skills
Time management and project management skills
Ability to work in a collaborative work environment with a team
