Job Description

As a Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler II at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will contribute to global impact through meaningful work. Our team in Greenville, NC, within the Pharma Services Group – Drug Product Development, is committed to improving the world's health, cleanliness, and safety. Your expertise is crucial to our mission.


How will you make an impact?

You will build and successfully implement schedules in line with the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) Plan, ensuring efficient resource utilization. Through continuous communication with Operations, you will determine and address capacity constraints effectively.

What will you do?

  • Determine if the detailed MFG/PKG schedule is feasible based on the MPS run, and if equivalent experience is acceptable instead of MPS.

  • Complete risk assessments and mitigate risks to ensure flawless delivery performance.

  • Check production readiness and material availability, initiating related actions if vital.

  • Resolve short-term MFG/PKG planning problems.

  • Allocate planned production to the production lines, including maintenance and development blocks.

  • Communicate the detailed MFG/PKG schedule to relevant partners.

  • Prepare process orders aligned with the detailed MFG/PKG schedule and approved Bill of Materials (BOM).

  • Hand over work orders and related instructions to Production in a timely manner.

  • Update the TIER board and participate in daily MFG/PKG TIER meetings.

  • Follow up on work orders and samples not turned in on time during TIER meetings.

  • Work safely and responsibly to build an injury-free and incident-free workplace, aligning with all job-related safety and training requirements.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

How will you get here?

Education: Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.

Experience: Three years of meaningful supply chain/scheduling experience

Equivalency: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Proficiencies:

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing process capabilities and planning functions.

  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques and planning functions related to CPS, MPS, MRP, and interfacing systems.

  • Ability to interact with various fields and resolve conflicts.

  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Self-starter, independent, and diligent.

  • Capability to thrive in a dynamic work environment, manage various tasks simultaneously, and achieve desired results.

  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective time management and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to make independent judgments and discretion.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead professional staff, evaluate and resolve sophisticated technical problems.

  • Ability to empower, energize, and retain key staff through direct interactions.
