Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Sales Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a global leader in the scientific industry, Thermo Fisher Scientific is dedicated to enabling our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. We are seeking an outstanding individual to drive revenue and new business of our Pharma Analytics product lines with a focus on cell & gene therapy customers across Eastern NA.

In this role, you will be responsible for revenue expansion of Rapid Molecular Methods in the cell & gene therapy manufacturing environment. You will work closely with key opinion leaders for Analytics, collaborating with CGT Business Development Managers, Market Development, Product Management, Account Managers, and Field Application Scientist teams to successfully implement our world-class solutions.

A day in the life

  • Complete business objectives to promote the adoption of Rapid Molecular Methods in process development, manufacturing, and quality control of cell & gene therapies.
  • Boldly identify and pursue new sales opportunities to exceed sales revenue targets.
  • Employ distinct sales approaches and tools when engaging with technical, manufacturing, and analytical customers to drive customer interest and close sales.
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers, Technical Sales Specialists, and Account Managers to build and implement a strategic market development plan.
  • Use Customer Relationship Management tools to rigorously manage sales funnel and prioritize activities.
  • Influence business evolution by providing accurate forecasting, market intelligence, and competitive information on a regular basis.

Keys to Success

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or equivalent experience.

Experience

  • 3+ years of previous experience in a Sales position with at least 2 years in the BioPharma/Pharma Industry.
  • Knowledge of Q-PCR and DNA Sequencing, and technology platforms desired. Knowledge of cell & gene therapy industry workflows desired.
  • Experience with new business generation strategies and relationship building.

  • Motivated individual who can effectively collaborate with a diverse, cross-functional, team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong ability to build relationships with a customer-centric approach.
  • Willingness to travel 50-75%.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Carolina del Norte is $75,700.00–$115,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
