Responsibilities
- Manage regular control blocks in the ERP system.
- Review and classify imports/exports as per Japan regulations.
- Monitor and review customer accounts and opportunities in the ERP system to conduct “know your customer” and other due diligence programs.
- Find opportunities for improvements to the existing way of working through process enhancements and automation.
- Develop connections with vital business collaborators in MSD Japan.
- Manage relationships with and the performance of Import/Export brokers.
- Assist and support the APAC Regional Manager to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk through periodic audits and assessments.
- Support other compliance priorities in the APJ region as needed.
Requirements
- Degree in International Trade, Supply Chain, or related studies.
- At least 4 years of experience in a similar capacity.
- Proven knowledge of international trade regulations, including import/export controls, customs regulations, trade agreements, and restricted party screenings.
- High ethical standards and a continuous improvement approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex regulations and provide practical solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to work with cross-functional teams and share trade compliance requirements with collaborators.
- Knowledge of CRM, QAD, and MS Office preferred.
