LOCATION:                            168 Third Ave, Waltham, MA 02451

TITLE:                                    Sr. Database Administrator

HOURS:                                  Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

DUTIES:

 
  • Work with developers and domain experts to establish a technical vision and evaluate trade-offs between usability and performance.
  • Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to deliver unique and tailored solutions to meet our customers' specific needs.
  • Act as a key point of contact between the business functions and IT.
  • Work with users across all organizational levels to analyze and convert business requirements into database specifications.
  • Critically assess information from various sources, resolve conflicts, and differentiate between user requests and actual needs.
  • Translate high-level information into detailed requirements and summarize detailed information effectively.
  • Communicate and collaborate with users to analyze their information needs and functional requirements.
  • Act as a liaison between business, technology, and support teams to ensure clear and efficient communication.
  • Participate in the Service Desk function to address and resolve user-related support calls.
  • Develop and implement test plans, and provide communication and training to end users for new functionalities.
  • Create new reports and dashboards to capture metrics for operational and business users.
  • Work directly with Amazon Web Services architects to replicate and resolve customer issues.

TRAVEL:                                Reports to company headquarters in Waltham, MA. Can work remotely or telecommute.

REQUIREMENTS:                  MINIMUM Education Requirement: Bachelor’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field of study.

MINIMUM Experience Requirement: 6 years of experience as a Database Administrator, Technical Analyst or a related occupation.

Required knowledge or experience with:

  • Project management;
  • Agile Methodology;

  • AlwaysOn, Windows Clustering, RAC, DG, and database clusters;
  • Managing various DBMS technologies such as; Golden Gate, DataGuard, Operational support for databases using Unix, Linux Solaris and HPUX, Windows, Veritas Clusters, RAC, and databases version 8i, 9i, 10g, 12c, 19c;
  • SQL Server, AWS, GCP, Azure, Oracle, MySQL, Redshift DynamoDB, Postgres, Hadoop, Java, SQL, Python, Unix, Linux, and Hana;
  • Cloud Applications such as; Jenkins, Ansible, Cloud Formation, DataDog, RDS Databases, Aurora, DBaaS, and SaaS; and
  • Database security.
