The Field Service Technician (FST) performs planned maintenance, repairs and other verification/qualification services on a variety of laboratory instruments at customer sites in their assigned geographic area. The FST engages with customers and provides basic instrument services and repairs while collaborating with other functions inside Thermo Fisher Scientific. Full training with be provided.
Key Functions:
- Provide planned maintenance, repair, installation and qualification services for instruments in the Life Sciences customer segment, such as laboratory or medical equipment, and Life Sciences products
- Deliver Field Services and Qualification reports to customers in accurate and timely manner
- Sourcing and ordering parts, to arrive at the time needed
- Collaborate with internal partners and peers to resolve customer issues and improve processes
- Maintain technical proficiency by attending trainings, staff meetings and keeping up to speed on new products, markets, customers and competitors
- Collaborate with own team, sales, technical support and logistics
- May perform other related duties if required and as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related Engineering/ Science field or solid, relevant experience
- Fluency in English as well as a Scandinavian language
- Current drivers licence and the ability to travel regularly, mainly by road and air
- Mechanical skills and manual dexterity, with strong analytical & problem solving skills
- Experience in customer facing role and effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, able to work independently after training completed.
- Be a team-player, positively supporting and contributing to the team
- Basic technical, electro-mechanical and/or laboratory instrument knowledge i advantageous
- Previous experience working in a clinical, diagnostic, or regulated environment (IVD, IVD-R & ISO) considered an asset

Working Conditions:
Frequent travel to customer sites is required and ranges from 50-75% of work time. Working both from home as well as in laboratory environments. May have to lift up to 20kg and may have to stand for long periods of time while performing work duties.
