Job Description

The role

The main area of be responsibility will be within the ongoing improvement of manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and driving efficiency in our production systems, in collaboration with multi-functional teams to design, implement, and supervise process improvements within the framework of ISO 13485.

This is an opportunity to work with production processes and automation engineering in relation to one of the most exciting technologies within biotechnology, within an international environment.

This permanent position will provide an opportunity for good balance between hands-on work in the field, i.e. in an industrial process plant, liaising with operators and observing, with an aim to improving the way that we work. The job also involves working in an office environment, to do planning, risk analysis, change assessments, documentation, etc. Additionally, you would take part in various project work and have regularly collaborations with other departments.
 

Responsibilities

System Design and Development: Design and develop automation solutions using 800xA Batch Management DCS. Integrate DCS with PLCs, MES, and ERP systems ensuring seamless communication and data exchange.

Manufacturing Support: Resolve daily production issues related to DCS and perform regular maintenance. Resolve deviations and follow up corrective and preventive actions.

Safety and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies.

Validation and Testing: Develop and implement validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) and perform system testing (Commissioning/FAT/SAT). Maintain documentation and system validated state according to Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP5).

Project Management: Lead and manage automation projects. Coordinate multi-functional teams including process engineers and quality assurance. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of project.

Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process optimization and automation improvements and stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and industry trends.

Training and Mentorship: Train and support operators and technical staff, and mentor less experienced team members. Develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions.

Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with stakeholders to align automation solutions with business objectives. Communicate with vendors and contractors for procurement and installation.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc/M.Sc in Automation or Electrical Engineering
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and a Scandinavian language (Swedish / Danish / Norwegian)
  • Demonstrated ability working with ABB 800xA or equivalent (process automation system)
  • Experience with installation, commissioning and qualification, preferably according to ISPE guidelines
  • Relevant experience from pharmaceutical domain is desired
