How will you make an impact?

The Director, PPI Business Systems will establish an Operational Excellence strategy with specific objectives to assist in developing, modifying and carrying out company policies that will have site-wide impact. Will be responsible for aligning the PPI Program (Operational Excellence) with the output needs for the Developmental and Commercial segments of the organizations.

What will you do?

  • Provide leadership to assigned staff by performing the following: leading organizational change; developing and empowering staff; cultivating relationships; putting staff in a position to succeed, meeting their personal career goals while also achieving organizational goals; building effective teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals; driving engagement and creating a climate where staff are motivated to do their best.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for continuous improvement projects addressing capacity, efficiency and quality to improve customer service metrics (Right First Time, On Time Delivery, Customer Appreciation Score) and deliver profit & loss (P&L) improvements. Update objectives as the business evolves.
  • Work closely with the Finance team to deliberately and positively impact profitability.
  • Select, develop and evaluate staff to ensure the efficient operation of the function. Works with and advises staff on administrative policies and procedures.
  • Lead and coordinate direct continuous improvement activities.
  • Continuously demonstrate through personal behaviors the things we value of Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement
  • Establish and maintain productive working relationships with subordinates, upper management and other functional areas.
  • Lead and be responsible for special projects.

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or Business or related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of relevant manufacturing environment experience including leadership roles - Pharmaceutical experience is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 year continuous improvement experience including achievement of financial targets.
  • Direct people management of teams experience.
  • Progression/expansion of roles including experience driving cross functional alignment.
  • Change management experience including encouraging an environment of innovation and facilitating the implementation & acceptance of change.
  • Lean Concepts and Organizational Change i.e. tiered daily management, kaizen, root cause analysis, value stream mapping.
  • Cross-Functional Knowledge including production and quality systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed business decisions; proficient in planning and implementing business strategies, financial analysis including P&Ls and cash flow.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of GMPs.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral).
  • Facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Fulfilling the expectations of our valued customers.
  • Analytical Ability; apply data to define and address problems.
  • Ability to apply, guide, and mentor teams on PPI Business System concepts.
  • Ability to drive functional, technical and operational excellence.
  • Ability to encourage and cultivate innovation, collaboration, clarity and team efficiency.
  • Leadership: accountability & execution.
  • Ability to Work in a Matrix Organization and influence change.
  • Previous PPI Business System Experience or equivalent (Six Sigma Green or Black Belt).
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
