Able to lift 40 lbs. without assistance, Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Cleanroom: no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc... allowed, Cold Room/Freezers -22degreesF/-6degrees C, Fluctuating Temps hot/cold, Loud Noises (Equipment/Machinery), Rapid flashing lights, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Standing for full shift, Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Various outside weather conditions, Will work with hazardous/toxic materials, Working at heights

Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific is currently hiring a proficient and driven Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician to join our world-class Engineering team. Typical work hours are 6p - 6a, on a 2-2-3 schedule.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all equipment and systems 

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and electronic system issues 

  • Perform inspections to ensure adherence to prescribed guidelines 

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs 

  • Collaborate with diverse teams to identify root causes and implement effective solutions. 

Requirements: 

  • Associate Degree with four (4) years of related experience or High School Diploma with six (6) years of related experience. 

  • Experience in Sterile Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Medical Device Industry preferred. 

  • Proven experience with Sterile IMA Production Systems, HVAC/HEPA Systems, Clean Utility Systems, Black Utility Systems, Electrical Distribution Systems (AC and DC, 24v to 480v), Motors, VF Drives and Servo Controlled System preferred. 

  • Ability to analyze problematic equipment and electromechanical component failures without schematics. Proficiency in the use of highly technical diagnostic and test equipment, reading blueprints, schematics, manuals and technician papers. 

  • Strong oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, task prioritization and interpersonal proficiency. 

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a manufacturing or industrial environment 

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems 

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
