Role & Responsibilities
Purpose:
Thermo Fisher Scientific is recruiting a Scientist who can foster innovation and improve customer outcomes through development and validation of cell culture workflows, reagents, and consumables.
Responsibilities:
Perform cell culture activities and laboratory techniques including aseptic expansion of immortalized cell lines, handling of primary cells and immortal cells
Work with stem cells and perform different type of differentiations.
Have to perform transfections and transductions
Regular analysis of cell culture samples, including microscopy, gene expression analysis, Western blot/ELISA, and other related tests
Start, plan, and implement scientific research with emphasis on cell culture techniques independently
Prepare customer-facing documents, which include scientific writing and publication-quality images and figures.
Keep thorough record of cell culture parameters and results into data sheets and/or electronic notebooks
Responsible for data integrity, accuracy, and analysis.
Deliver high quality results according to project schedule in support of current and/or new products
Skills and Experience
Experimental skills with attention to detail are critical
Transfection and transduction experience
Demonstrated ability to work in teams and mentor junior scientists
Strong understanding and hands-on expertise with culture of multiple mammalian cell types. The ideal candidate will have additional experience with protein biology, molecular biology, or other related teams.
Experience in primary and/or stem cell work is required.
Proven ability to create publication-quality documents. The ideal candidate will have a record of publication in peer-reviewed journals.
Superior interpersonal skills, both written and oral.
Should be a great teammate, open to learning new techniques and a creative problem solver
Candidate Requirement:
Education & Experience levels:
Ph.D degree in life sciences or Master’s degree in Cell Biology/Biotechnology or related Life Science with 5-6 years of research experience
Applicants should have a strong background in Cell Biology
Nature of experience:
Should have a clear understanding of basics of cell biology, cell physiology, and tissue development.
Should be able to think, work independently and complete experiments
Knowledge Required:
GLP, GMP or any other certification in laboratory practices and EHS certification will be considered as a bonus
