Job Description

As Logistics Specialist you are responsible for the correct, timely and complete organization and physical processing of the FOC (free of charge) shipments.

Our Teams

We are teams, warehouse and order desk & shipping, with different roles.

Order desk and Shipping. Currently the team consists of 10 people of which 2 Forwarding Specialists, also called Shippers, and 8 order desk specialists.

Warehouse consists of 14 people with the following roles of reception, storage, picking, packing and loading.

Our teams are very diverse in terms of background, age and gender. There is a good working atmosphere where everyone wants to help each other.

Order desk & Shipping work closely with the warehouse. We are highly dependent on each other. With the aim of meeting the expectations of the (internal) customer.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • The timely, complete and correct shipment of our FOC shipments is extremely important for our customers, organization and turnover.
  • Physically packing the shipment.
  • Processing the shipment administratively in SBM (serena business manager)
  • Checking the FOC flow and picking up any deviations.
  • Check and select the best solutions logistics service provider (LSP), and make a good trade-off between the lowest costs and the right service. Within our selected carriers.
  • Booking the shipment on the site of the chosen carrier
  • Creating the "customs invoice", value for export and packing lists
  • Preparing the shipment, labels and documents, and placing the shipment at the pick up location.
  • Connecting with the internal customers in Dutch and English about the shipments,
  • Working together with logistics service providers on optimal planning and execution of shipments according to the Incoterms agreed with customers.
  • Obtaining , checking and preparing documentation to align with customs requirements and with the regulations and tax regimes of your own and other countries.
  • Coordinating with the Trade Compliance Team, logistics service providers and other parties involved in (mainly) export transactions to ensure full compliance with the (tax) regulations regarding international trade with regard to the execution of shipments.
  • In addition to FOC handling and shipment, you will be trained and deployed on various warehouse activities

Education, knowledge and experience

  • Good knowledge of the Dutch and English language (verbally and written)
  • Affinity with the shop floor or physical processes.
  • Experience with packaging shipments at a high quality level
  • Familiar with export procedures and Incoterms. Or are willing to learn this.
  • Work independently, set priorities and make decisions within defined procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Supportive and approach tasks with a can-do attitude.
  • Structured and accurate: good at managing time and attention to detail; Reliable follow-up is crucial when carrying out export activities.
  • Willing to allow changes to the planned working hours, if the situation so requires.
  • Stress resistant and eager to learn.
  • Sense of continuous improvement
